I bought myself a microprocessor for my birthday coming up in November. Wilderness Labsmade me an offer I couldn't refuse. A Meadow F7 board that the company claims to be "full-stack" .NET standard compatible.
Just what I always wanted! Scott Hanselman seemed impressed with it so I figured it'd be worth supporting the device.
Theoretically, when I tire of software I should be able to switch over to hardware - no problem! I am not much of a hardware person but this will grant me the opportunity to be while also wiring up some .NET knowledge. I might even try to measure input in Unity and make a game out of some I/O !
